• Once a Travelodge motel, this three-story structure sits on a hill in town, and its motel-style rooms afford the view through sliding glass doors opening to balconies. Units on the third and fourth floors have the best vantage. The less-expensive rooms on the lower levels are equipped with ceiling fans but lack air-conditioners. Ground-floor rooms are devoted to dormitory-style accommodations, which makes this my top backpacker's choice in the area. Most of these have double beds while two are equipped with four bunk beds each. The Decked Out restaurant serves all meals and opens to an outdoor pool surrounded by a wooden deck overlooking the bay. This isn't a fancy establishment, but it's clean, comfortable, friendly, and a very good value.
