  • Description:

    • Centrally located and quite unique, Talking Stick boasts two great courses that are quite playable. Located on and owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the North and South courses blend with their tranquil desert surroundings to provide a serene yet challenging day of play with no homes in sight and unobstructed views of the desert and mountains. Neither is a desert-style course as is typically found in the Phoenix area. Players can oftentimes spot wild horses on the Indian reservation. The links-style North Course is a refreshing minimalist design that features wide fairways void of any trees, strategic bunkering and native grasses. The North Course offers players the chance to run their shots as the fairways and ruff are cut to the same length. The greens are open, the fairways wide, and the roughly carved bunkers look as if they've been there for hundreds of years. The South Course features subtle elevation changes, fingered bunkers and heavily-treed landscaping of native cottonwoods and hardwoods. There are tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offering a more straightforward style of play. Both courses at Talking Stick are highly recommended for all players in the area.
