Cut the frills - there's enough to do in Seattle without worrying about scoring a fancy room. Whether you're interested in staying downtown or outside of the city, there are quite a few low-cost motels in Seattle to choose from.
La Hacienda Motel is just a few miles south of Safeco and Qwest Fields and downtown Seattle and offers friendly service, clean room and out-of-city prices. If you want to get a little more "inside" the city, try the Ace Hotel in Belltown. Don't let the name fool you - this hotel is part hostel, and offers small (but clean) accommodations for nearly-hostel prices in a location that couldn't be closer to all the clubs and bars of a neighborhood known for its nightlife.
Maybe it's peace, quiet and country livin' outside of Seattle you're looking for, in which case the friendly Monroe Motel northeast of the city is the place for you. If you're interested in staying near the University of Washington campus, or just want to check out the fun U-district for yourself, the University Motel Suites are a great choice for your budget travel.
North of downtown Seattle and west of the U-district is the Marco Polo Motel, offering low-cost rooms just minutes of driving away from both areas. The Travelodge by the Space Needle is a family-friendly, cheap motel right by all the fun of Seattle Center, and their other location in the U-district is a good bet as well.
