From the uber-luxurious to the so-cheap-it's-practically-a-hostel, Seattle has every type of hotel and accommodation a tourist could ask for. Whether downtown, on an island or just outside of the city, you're sure to find the hotel that suits your needs and budget.
For uptown living downtown, the Fairmont Olympic is one of Seattle's most well-known luxury hotels. With its gorgeous Italian Renaissance facade, it's a least worth strolling by on your way to the theatre or symphony.
For a more modern luxury experience, check out the Hotel 1000 on 1st Avenue. Known as the most "wired" hotel in the city, it also offers Seattle's only virtual reality golf club, complete with 50 golf courses to choose from. The Sorrento in First Hill is the city's oldest luxury boutique, and radiates pure class both outside and in.
Other notable boutiques downtown include the Hotel Monaco, Hotel Max, Alexis Hotel and Vintage Park. The Hyatt at Olive 8 is a towering glass hotel with ultra-modern accommodations, and the Crowne Plaza is known as "a business traveler's dream."
The Edgewater is, as you might imagine, on the edge of the waterfront. With it's rustic lodge feel and rooms facing the Puget Sound, you'll feel like you're on a secluded getaway while still having all the nightlife of downtown Seattle a block behind you. The Inn at the Market is another great option for those who want to be close to the city and the water; located in historic Pike Place Market, the Inn even has a rooftop patio where you can enjoy views of the Sound. And for those on a budget, the Moore Hotel is comfortable, clean, cheap and in a great location. If you want to be where the action is and don't plan on spending much time in your room, Ace Hotel in Belltown is also ideally located. With closet-sized (but clean) rooms and a rock-bottom price, it's a borderline hostel.
