Seattle is an historic city bursting with new - new festivals, new events, new things to do popping up every week. The key to finding the latest things to do in Seattle is simply knowing where to look.
Like the Pacific Science Center, which is often overlooked due to its location near the Space Needle, surrounded by the other exciting attractions Seattle Center offers. But the Pacific Science Center just finished up hosting the popular Harry Potter exhibition in February 2011, and the upcoming Star Wars exhibition promises to be just as thrilling. And while you're in the area, Seattle Center has enough festivals over the summer and fall to rival the total number of cafes in Seattle.
The Seattle Art Museum, fresh off its incredibly popular Picasso exhibition, is currently preparing for its latest exhibit, Nick Cave's "Meet Me at the Center of the Earth." Pike Place Market usually finds its place on any Seattle tourist's to-do list, and particularly on the weekends, is often the site of various types of food festivals.
Likewise, the zoo and the aquarium are great spots to visit any day, but both regularly hold special events, such as January's "Hawaii weekend."
The Underground Tour is late - about a hundred years late. Take a trip under the streets of Seattle to check out the remnants of the city before the Great Fire destroyed it. And if you're flying into the city, check out just how that plane was build over at the Boeing Center and tour.
