If you're looking for romantic things to do, Seattle has you covered. From gorgeous gardens to strolls along the water, this city has plenty to offer a couple ready for romance.
As Tom and Meg proved, few things are more romantic than a nighttime observation deck meeting. Which is why our number one pick is...not The Space Needle, but Smith Tower in Pioneer Square. While a trip up the Needle is certainly memorable, Smith Tower tends to be quiet, with plenty of space for an intimate moment up at the top. A ride up in the original brass and copper caged elevators is enough to set the mood, and the view rivals that of the Needle.
Seattle is surrounded by water, which provides a variety of romantic things to do. Rent an old wooden sailboat on Lake Union at the Center for Wooden Boats, or take a ferry out to San Juan Island's Friday Harbor for a little whale-watching.
Japanese gardens, waterfall oases and arboretums are all perfect settings for a romantic day. And for couples who love history, a trip to Pioneer Square to browse the antiques mall and explore Seattle's Underground is a must.
