While older hotels have their charm, that charm fades when you have to deal with lack of hot water or bad plumbing on vacation. If newly updated and modern is what you're looking for, Seattle has several hotels that have recently experienced a makeover that are ready to welcome you.
Such as the Alexis Hotel, a classy boutique with modern rooms in an excellent location in downtown Seattle close to the art museum and Pike Place Market. The Red Lion on Fifth Avenue is recently renovated as well, centrally located and surrounded by great shopping, restaurants and other nightlife attractions.
Over in the hip U-district, Hotel Deca has recently given it's 1930's facade a modern $2 million update in art deco style. And just a mile northwest from the center of downtown Seattle, Homewood Suites offers newly updated one and two bedroom studios with extended stay options.
The Renaissance, located in the business district close to Qwest and Safeco Fields, has been renovated and includes three restaurants, a fitness center and an indoor pool. Those looking for modern accommodations in Bellevue need look no further than the Sheraton, which updated all rooms and meeting facilities in 2008 in a $5.7 million renovation. In north Seattle, the Hotel Nexus is family friendly and newly decorated with a modern look, and the Days Inn by the airport is a great choice for those seeking new amenities without straying too far from their flight home.
