Description:
- Our 1908 Craftsman style home is located at the edge of downtown Olympia. You can ditch your car and enjoy Oly on foot. People call Fertile Ground an "oasis" because we're surrounded by greenery in the midst of the concrete around us. With mature fruit and nut trees and a large garden, you'll think you're out in the country. Children love it here. Our toy boxes are stocked and the outdoors holds much to be discovered and eaten. Our mission is to demonstrate urban sustainability. If you're already familiar with common environmental practices like recycling, composting and eating organic food, you'll feel right at home here. If not, we'd be happy to explain their importance, as well as our use of organic bedding, biodegradable detergents and energy saving appliances. We are demonstrating ways to reduce consumption and waste. We love sharing what we know and learning more from our guests.
