74th Street Ale House - Seattle

  • Description:

    • This neighborhood pub, designed to resemble pubs in England, not only serves a good variety of locally brewed ales, but also has some of the best pub fare in the city. The burger--made with lean ground beef, served on a hunk of French baguette, and covered with grilled onions and red bell peppers--is terrific. The gumbo is another winner; this rich, dark stew is perfect on a cold, rainy night. Both the Caesar salad and the chicken sandwich are also excellent. Located about a mile north of Woodland Park Zoo, this is a great spot for lunch before or after visiting the zoo. Note: Because it is a tavern, children are not allowed.
