Dinette promotes an odd specialty: toast. Of course, the toast is served with a number of delicious toppings, such as creamy gorgonzola sauce, toasted walnuts and balsamic syrup. The dressings on the toast change periodically due to the restaurant's emphasis on seasonal ingredients but they're always delicious. One of the best entrees is the gnocchi ricotta dumplings served with escarole, wine soaked currants, pine nuts and brown butter, but the toast is still the star of the show. Every other Sunday, the restaurant has a "community supper", at which all tables are pushed together and about 36 strangers eat a family-style dinner, with themes that are revealed in advance but specific entrees that are kept secret until arrival. The setting is relaxing, with soft blues and other relaxing hues conveying a serene mood.
