Like the original in Fremont, Homegrown now creates sandwich masterpieces in the new
Melrose Market, along with soups and salads, out of local, sustainable ingredients. Sandwiches range from the coffee-and-cayenne rubbed pork loin with apple butter, to the "Bluffernutter," a concoction of bacon, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff (homemade, of course). Breakfast is on the menu at all – why not start the morning with a fried egg and lamb sausage? The kids have a menu of their own as well, which includes Homegrown twists on classics like the PB&J and grilled cheese (as well as a kid-sized version of the Bluffernutter).
