Description:
- With fresh fish, meat and produce coming directly from Pike Place Market, right outside the front door, you know it's fresh at this traditional French Market cafe/restaurant with views of Elliott Bay. The eatery prepares old favorites like Beef Bordelaise and more creative dishes like Panache du Pecheur (a melange of fish in a tomato-basil fondue). There is a separate lunch menu, a light menu served between lunch and dinner, and a brunch served on Sundays (try the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon).

Reasonable lunch, great setting.

We had a few hours in Seattle before flying out and in awful weather looked for somewhere easily accessible. It's a pity we didn't have the time or inclination to shop around...

Great french restaurant with a view!

I had an excellent lunch at Maximilien where you are welcomed by the French patron who immediately makes you feel in good company. Nice view, good food, reasonably priced.

The food, the view and the service (zero arrogance, perfectly pleasant) = 4 stars. Best French restaurant we have tried in Seattle to date. We will be back. I almost hate to rate this...

Message from Maximilien In The Market
Maximilien is a romantic and charming French restaurant located in the heart of downtown Seattle's historic Pike Place Market. Owned and operated since 1997 by Axel Mace and Eric Francy, Maximilien has all the old-world charm of a Parisian hideaway. Inside, panoramic views can be seen of Puget Sound, Elliott Bay, West Seattle and the Olympic Mountains, all framed by huge picture windows. Our cuisine features market fresh local ingredients cooked with French techniques. Our Chefs were trained in some of the most prestigious restaurants in France. The result is a seasonally changing menu highlighted by such signatures as the wonderful "Tournedos Rossini." Reservations are recommended, however not required.
