Pon Proem Thai Restaurant

Pon Proem Thai Restaurant - Seattle

  • Description:

    • Mercer Island, home to lakeside mansions and rolling bike paths, also hosts this wonderful little Thai gem. The decor here is a little worse for wear. The paint is faded and the furniture just this side of uncomfortable, but once your food is set before you, any concerns vanish from mind. All the usual Thai dishes are here, but favorites include the restaurant's namesake, Gai Pon Proem (pieces of spicy meat to be dipped in flavorful sauces), hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls and Fried halibut. Food is spiced on the star system—one star is mild, five stars require a fire extinguisher next to the table!
