Description:
- Arch Rock Trail is a strenuous 3.1 mile hike or horseback ride. The trail begins at 3,900 feet at the junction with Greenwater Trail #1176 and ends at 5,950 feet at the junction with the Pacific Crest Trail.
The entire trail is within the Norse Peak Wilderness. From the southern end of Echo Lake, the trail crosses the Greenwater River at mile 0.1 and heads north around the eastern side of Echo Lake. The eastern side of the Echo Lake offers a campsite at 0.3 mile. From this point, the trail starts to climb very steep grades. At mile 2.4, there is a campsite and a creek. The trail then connects with the Pacific Crest Trail at mile 3.1.
