- The Lower South Fork Skokomish Trail meanders through ancient forest and parallels the South Fork Skokomish River northwest of the town of Hoodsport. The trail receives annual maintenance and is in good condition throughout its length. The Lower South Fork Trail is 10.3 miles long and ties in to the Upper South Fork Trail about .3 miles northwest of Harps Shelter. Points of interest include the old LeBar Claim, Church Creek Shelter, and Harps Shelter. Olympic Elk can be observed throughout the river basin provided one is quiet and does not approach too closely.
Toilets and potable water are available at Brown Creek Campground. there is a horse camp area near Brown Creek as well.
