NileGuide Expert Says:
A beautiful way to enjoy the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie area without hiking. The river views are gorgeous.
Description:
- The Mountain Loop Scenic Byway travels 50 miles through the Darrington Ranger District of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The route starts in Granite Falls and ends in Darrington. Campgrounds, picnic areas, hiking trails, and scenic rivers are all accessible along the byway.
Shady west side forest and inviting rivers create most of the character of this easy, pleasant drive. The route passes many places to stop and look or walk and hike for a while, including interpretive trails suitable for wheelchairs. There are also many views out to surrounding high peaks and into nearby wilderness areas
