- This trail follows Boulder Creek Road two miles from the trailhead to a spur trail leading .5 miles to Olympic Hot Springs. It begins at the end of the Elwha River Road, elevation 1,800 feet. (This route is also known as Boulder Creek Road past the Lake Mills dam.) The route descends toward the river slowly crossing Cougar, Hell and Crystal Creeks. Shortly beyond Crystal Creek the road ends at a parking area. Walk through the parking area along the northern shore of Boulder Creek to a spur trail leading left. This trail crosses Boulder Creek and leads .5 miles to the hot springs on the southern bank. A popular resort once stood in this area, but nothing remains of it.
