- Chef Jeff Medstad has 15 years experience traveling throughout Mexico, sniffing out the market stalls in every town, and learning from local chefs about the authentic preparation of classic Mexican dishes. All that travel and experience comes to life in the menu, which features creative and eclectic takes on tacos, chile rellenos, tamales, and other classics. The name of the cafe is derived from that traditional Mexican street specialty: the corn on a stick, which is in Mexico you'll find smeared with delectable creams, spices, and spritzed with fresh lime. Here, this Mexican street classic is transformed into one of the best appetizers in town: a fresh dip of grilled corn kernels, perfectly seasoned with fresh cojita cheese, chiles, and limes. This alone is worth the price of admission.
