Description:
On a hillside above the agrarian hamlet of Sanlúcar la Mayor, 19km (12 miles) south of Seville, this legendary manor house is surrounded by 16 hectares (40 acres) of olive groves and farmland. Basque-born entrepreneur Rafael Elejabeitia bought the property and spent millions to transform it into one of Andalusia's most historic hotels. All but a few of the rooms are in the estate's main building, each individually furnished with Andalusian antiques and Moorish trappings. The kitchen is run by Ferran Adrià, the famous Catalonian chef who is hailed as one of the top chefs in the country. He's rarely on the premises but his recipes and cooking style are used.
