The Museo Marítimo is a naval museum that was set up within the tower in the year 1944 with an aim to ensure that it remained a major tourist attraction, and was not left abandoned. The tower which was recognized as a national heritage monument in the year 1931, accommodates the naval museum on its lower and first floor. Due to its prime location and nice enough naval exhibits, the museum poses as a major hotspot for tourists.
