Shanghai's Theaters offer something unique. So glamorous is theater in Shanghai that one of the principle locations for theatrics is called the Majestic Theater, a lovely and lively place for a showing with all the glitz of bygone eras.
The Shanghai Grand and Shanghai Center Theater offer large-scale theatrical viewings of sundry variety, including performances, shows, musical numbers and more. The locations are great, located on Renmin and Nanjing respectively, making access a non-issue.
The Shanghai Theater Academy trains Shanghai's impressive artistic community for the stage, and they have showings from time to time that offer impressive entertainment, laughter and tears.
One of the oldest is the Cathay Theater, which was once the most impressive and powerful name in the international concession in Shanghai. Movies, books and plays have been written about the antics at the Cathay hotel and theater, and this historical location doesn't disappoint.
