  • Around Hongqiao Airport the dining options are few. However, with instant access to the subway at the airport you can easily whisk yourself to nearby Minhang or Xuhui districts where you'll find ample restaurants and cafes to fill any appetite.

For Mexican cuisine, Mexico Lindo is a great option not too far from the airport. Less than a half hour by cab ($7) you can find yourself gorging on delicious enchiladas and sipping a margarita.

Try something new with Kaveen's Kitchen, on Huashan Road. You'll find delicate and well thought out decor, great music and even better ambiance.

For Muslim food, the Uyghur have an impressive presence in Shanghai's culinary circles. Yershari Xinjiang Restaurant and Shanghai Xinjiang are both excellent options for nan, noodles and coal-cooked lamb.

For Asian cuisine, Baan Thai and Indian Kitchen offer delicious and filling meals at varying costs. You'll find expertly cooked meals with decent ambiance.

For upscale dining, Villa Rouge and Cotton Club offer colonial-era European fare with a distinctly Shanghai feel. You'll feel as if you've slipped into the international concession of early Shanghai at these classy joints.
