Shanghai oozes romance. Stroll hand in hand along the Bund in the early evening, watching the city's lights come on across the river. Or, take a leisurely river cruise up the Huangpu. Stroll through the renovated hutongs as music plays in the background. Shanghai has no shortage of activities for lovers, and when love is in the air everything becomes more beautiful.
The Bund is the simple most romantic thing to do in Beijing. Head there at night with your lover to check out the lights across the river and stroll hand in hand along the boardwalk. This is a great place to take pictures or have yourselves drawn by a local artist.
TaiKang Road is a beautifully restored hutong area with winding mazes that deliver you to chic restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlors. Get lost with your loved one in the alleys as you shop, dine and drink together. Similarly, XinTianDi is an elegant hutong with fancy restaurants and fine wines on display. For an up-scale outing this is a sure thing.
JinMao Tower was once China's tallest building and remains a hot spot for lovers. The bar near the top floor offers martini deals for two while you watch the sunset from on high. Stroll from here to Nanjing Road, the busiest and most iconic avenue in Shanghai where you'll find lots of little shops to pop into with your lover.
Finally, for a romantic day trip, nothing is as gripping as West Lake in beautiful Hangzhou.
