Jing'An is a beautiful area complete with its own namesake temple, Jing'An Temple, located directly next to a major shopping and dining center that also houses the subway. If the temple is the center of Jing'An district, it remains equally as interesting as it spread outward.
When it is in session, the International Film Festival is held in Jing'An, which is a logical choice given the restaurants, pubs and hotels in the area. You'll also find shopping, a few key parks and access to the city's transportation hubs.
Jing'An is also well known for its shopping venues and high-speed, modern approach to life. Expats, tourists and locals mingle in gourmet shops while others bike by at a brisk speed. Plaza 66 and the City Supermarket are well known shopping locations that cater to a uniquely western clientele. City Supermarket stocks its shelves with sought after items like western imported cheese while Plaza 66 is full of Gucci and Dior stores.
Jing'An Park and the Sauna Room at the Equatorial Hotel give Jing'An the locations it needs to relax after a long day on the town. A brisk walk or jog in the park is nicely complimented by a sauna to flush out toxins.
For art lovers, the Spin Ceramic Shop and Museum of Arts and Crafts are in Jing'An and open for business. The Museum, especially, is an impressive display of art in an amazing building.
