  • Shanghai's nightlife is centered on interactive entertainment, and as such the shows are less popular than say, in Paris. However, what Shanghai does have for evening shows it excels at!

    The Chinese Acrobats Show is a tradition for tourists in Shanghai, and is an amazing performance that blends kung fu, dancing, lighting and many amazing feats that will blow your mind and leave you scratching your head in wonderment.

    For live music, head to the Jing'An Hotel to see the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Here you'll experience western and Chinese classical favorites performed by true experts who love their musical calling.

    In Spring, the Music Festival offers non-stop action. You'll see nightly shows and writhe in awe at the talent and skill on display. The whole city gets swept up in the fervor as music becomes the passion of the night in China's largest city.

    For Chinese opera, head to the Opera School or Shanghai Concert Hall. Peking Opera is a deep passion in China, and many a cab driver will woo you with his own personal renditions of the Peking Opera favorites. You're sure to encounter opera while in Shanghai, why not make it official and see an opera performed live!

    Jin Mao Tower often has performances in its massive J-Life concert hall. From western singers and performers intent on breaking into the Chinese market, to Asian favorites who come to Shanghai because the crowds are always amazing, hyper and well versed in music.
