Shanghai History Museum

Description:

  • Shanghai History Museum was founded in 1983 and is the biggest museum in the city. It has more to do with the ancient history and culture of Shanghai and China than anything else. The museum moved to the basement of the Shanghai Pearl Oriental Tower in 2000. A fee to enter the tower may be added to the admission price of the ticket. Within the Museum are room-sized displays of earlier times in Shanghai, going back to its days as a fishing village. One interesting element incorporated into the displays are the scents the curators add to give a fuller impression of each era.
