Shanghai Zendai Museum of Modern Art (Shanghai Zhengda Xiandai Yishuguan)

Description:

• Located by Century Park in Pudong, the Zendai may be off the beaten path for your average visitor, but should attract contemporary art aficionados. On the small side, this active museum nevertheless packs it full of original and more experimental works of Chinese artists in a range of mediums, including photography, sculpture, and video installations. There are also guided tours of the museum (in Chinese), lectures, concerts, and film programs.
