Description:
Mauro and Nadia and their son Alessandro oversee a very amiable, homey set of clean and, for the price, surprisingly comfortable rooms decorated with the odd antique. The firm beds rest on patterned tiling and are surrounded by whitewashed walls curving into the ceilings. (A few have painted wood beams.) Printed curtains hang in the archways of some guest rooms. A pair of rooms have a distant view of the Duomo's flank, and all are mouse quiet, as the place sits atop St. Catherine's house-cum-convent. If you ask, they'll let you go up on the terrace for views of the city and valley. This is a family environment; there is a midnight curfew.
