Description:

  • This church has been through so much that now it is no longer even a church but a gallery for art exhibitions.This does not inhibit appreciation of the restoration work of Luigi Vanvitelli after the umpteenth fire to beset the building in 1755. Inside there is a Crucifixion by Perugino, a fresco by Ambrogio Lorenzetti (Majesty) in the Piccolomini Chapel, Epiphany by Del Sodoma in the lunette at the altar, and frescoes by Francesco di Giorgio Martini and Luca Signorelli in the Bichi Chapel.
