  • Live sports enthusiasts are often disappointed with Singapore's lack of stadium space and live event action. Well thank goodness for satellite TV, for now we can watch live sporting events around the globe, in the comfort of a local pub. Where to find a good place to watch sport is a frequently asked question from visitors to Singapore, so here we put together a list of the best sports bars in Singapore.

Topping our list is Boomarang on Robertson Quay. This Australian-themed bar offers a breezy indoor/outdoor environment, plenty of seating and more importantly plenty of large plasma screens around the bar. Priority is generally given to Aussie sports (rugby, Aussie rules, cricket), and during the big matches you can hardly hear yourself think for the noise, so if you're looking for a good atmosphere, then this is the place to head to.

Irish bars are usually a safe bet for catching some live sporting action, and three of our entries reflect this - the Dubliner has long been a favourite with local Irish expats looking to cheer on their team in green, while Mulligans at both Clarke Quay and Resorts World Sentosa are both popular with tourists and the holiday crowd.

Down at Boat Quay next-door rivals the Penny Black and Harry's Bar pull in the after-work and lunchtime crowds, while the other Harry's outlet on our list, Harry's @ Chijmes, is the place to head for evening Premiership football games, when the specially-erected large screens in the courtyard attract the die-hard shirt-wearing, flag-waving fans.
