When it comes to finding the best breakfast spots in Singapore, it helps to be in the know. With the local population favouring local ethnic dishes for their morning meal, finding a restaurant to tuck into bacon and eggs or breakfast pancakes can be something of a challenge if you're not familiar with the city. Luckily the large expat community and constant influx of hungry tourists mean that with a bit of searching, there are several great breakfast spots to be found. Of course, all the top-end hotels also offer large breakfast spreads in their in-house restaurants.
Although it only serves breakfast on a Sunday, the number one on the list goes to Graze. Slightly off the beaten track in Rochester Park, this alfresco breakfast spot is extremely popular with the local expat community so booking ahead is essential. Regulars flock here for their fresh juices, innovative breakfast menu and their ever-popular 'cast-iron' pans - hearty fry-ups in a pan.
Wild Honey offers breakfast choices for all nationalities - taking inspiration from breakfast eaten around the world, its 20 different international breakfasts are served all day every day, while PS Café at Palais Renaissance offers a relaxed and stylish setting with its French café-inspired wicker furniture, spectacular floral displays and excellent weekend breakfasts. Prive is where to head to escape the city, and admire the yachts in the marina over some of the best pancakes in town, and Boomarang is where to go for a good Aussie fry-up or bacon & egg roll.
And because all visitors to Singapore should try a local breakfast at least once, we've included Killiney Kopitiam. This local coffee shop is where to catch a slice of real Singaporean local life, and the breakfast of choice is Kaya Toast with runny eggs washed down with a thick sweet Kopi-o coffee.
