Five Star Hotels is what Singapore does best, and there is no shortage of luxury accommodation to choose from. The hotels of the Marina Bay area wow their guests with stunning city views, with the added convenience of their proximity to the Central Business District, in addition to great eating, shopping and entertainment choices. Number one on our list goes to the Marina Bay Sands, which hogs the skyline with its three grand 55-storey towers and rooftop swimming pool, bar and restaurant complex that has had tongues wagging since it opened in June 2010.
Across the water from the Marina Bay Sands, the Fullerton Bay Hotel is another study in luxury, with its award-winning interior design and trendy rooftop swimming pool. Also in the area you will find colonial favourite the Fullerton Hotel, and international luxury chain favourite, the Mandarin Oriental.
Orchard Road, famed for its endless stretch of luxury shopping malls and designer boutiques is another epicentre for five star hotels in Singapore. The St Regis is the glitziest of all, with its crystal chandeliers, personal butler service and fleet of personalised Bentleys, or choose from international chain five-star favourites the Four Seasons or the Shangri-La, which has its flagship hotel here. Sentosa boasts several new high-end hotels, but Norman Foster-designed Capella is the best bet for real five star luxury.
