Sentosa - Singapore Things To Do

  • Sentosa is often dubbed Singapore's playground, and there certainly is plenty of fun attractions packed into this small island - more so than anywhere else in the city. Sentosa has done much in recent years to shrug of its image of being a tacky weekend getaway, with the construction of several high-end hotels, the upgrading of its seafront bars and restaurants, and of course the arrival of Resorts World Sentosa, an enormous theme park, casino, hotel and lifestyle destination.

    The top two on the list are the major attractions of Resorts World Sentosa: Universal Studios, the movie-themed theme park with its rollercoasters, rides and attractions guarantees a great day out for all the family, while the Casino provides 24 hour gambling fun to the over-21s.

    More fun for the family is to be found at Underwater World, Asia's largest tropical oceanarium, boasting than 2,500 marine creatures from 250 species; while more adventurous kids will enjoy the thrill of the Megazip adventure park with its 450m zip line, and the Luge for a high-speed race down the hill.

    For something more leisurely, kick back on the white sandy beaches and try out all the seafront bars and restaurants. Or to learn a bit about Singapore, then visit Images of Singapore for a walk-through its history, or Fort Siloso to educate yourself in the country's role in WWII. Whatever you decide to do when you get here - the most fun way to arrive is undoubtedly by crossing Keppel Harbour at 90 metres above the water aboard the Jewel Cable Car.
