    • Since its opening in 1997, this boutique hotel has possessed decor reminiscent of the Straits Chinese trading houses of yesteryear. The ambiance within this five-storey building is beautifully dignified. The owners (sons of the late Kho Beng Kang, known to many as "The Nutmeg King") obviously take pride in their cultural heritage, although this sentiment is never overbearing. The hotel occupies five restored shop-houses along Temple Street and is the perfect spot from which to explore the rich traditions of Singapore's Chinatown.
