- Din Tai Fung is the local's favourite place to head to for heart-warming noodle soups and delicious dumplings. Din Tai Fung has its roots dating back to Taiwan more than 39 years ago and has since gained a reputation worldwide. The Hong Kong branch was awarded one Michelin star recently and the New York Times rated Din Tai Fung as one of the world's top ten restaurants.
The restaurant group is renowned for its Xiao Long Bao (Shanghai meat dumplings) which are created with 18 intricate folds in each one. The open kitchen concept allows diners to watch the chefs in action as they create the famous dumplings at lightning speed. Din Tai Fung does not accept reservations – take a ticket and join the queue, which can take up to an hour during busy periods. There are eleven further branches throughout Singapore including those at Wisma Atria shopping mall, 313 Somerset shopping mall and Raffles City shopping mall.
