User Review:
- Setting & Menu: Located along the upcoming Siglap stretch, I found Etna to be a cosy yet elegant restaurant - an intimate setting without being intrusive. I was pleasantly surprised by the selective menu, thinking I would find the typical varieties of pasta and pizzas. But the menu is quite unique and includes dishes like Margherite al Pistacchio (which I tried and loved), which few other Italian restaurants have. On Service: My table was attended to by a lady who impressed me and effectively sealed my impression of Etna's service. My husband is Italian and while he rattled on our orders with the order of the dishes, she managed to reiterate everything for confirmation perfectly. No asking my husband to slow down or repeat, no note-taking and no referencing to the menu. Very refreshing since most of our experiences had waiters writing down orders word-by-word or fumbling with the menu to copy the dish names down, and worse, looking over OUR copies of the menu. On Food: Using a traditional scale, I have to give the food 8.5/10. The mains were great, but the missing 1.5 marks are due to the Insalata Cesare tasting kind of "dead", almost as if they were pre-prepared. But that could have been my personal experience. The Bruschetta Etna was as promised - fresh and tasty. Bread was toasted just right (for once!).
