• A sprawling, manmade park, consisting of various pockets of themed gardens: be sure to drop by the Recycling and Butterfly Garden. This hortpark was created both for recreational and educational purposes. There are also numerous green/glasshouses where flowers are grown. Be sure to check out opening days and timings if you would like to thoroughly explore the attractions at HortPark. The park is carefully planned-out and constructed with the purpose of fusing the themes of Gardening, Horticulture and Landscaping. Be sure to take a break by grabbing some food at Adam's cafe and then heading over to the tower where the Information Centre is located and where various dining chairs and tables overlook a lake-like fountain. Hortpark is only half the fun. It is also a park connector which enables one to walk all the way from one park to another park, say, Telok Blangah Hill Park to Mount Faber to even the Harbourfront/Vivocity shopping mall. Along the way, there are artsy modern bridges and proper footpaths- such as the surreal Alexandra Arch links, comprehensive Forest Walk footbridges and the funky Henderson Waves pedestrian bridge. Enjoy scenic views of the Pasir Panjang port too at strategic high points. Whatever you choose to do, this park has many attractions to offer, and definitely would be appreciated by nature lovers. Set aside an average of two hours to get from Hortpark to Vivocity mall. And remember to bring plenty of fluids with you as there are no watercooler stations around.
