Hey there...

If you were to ask any Singaporean on the street, they'll tell you to go and try your luck at the red-light districts. But, not many of them know of hostels.

Currently, you're in luck. There's been an increase in demand for hostels as more backpackers are coming to Singapore. Most of these hostels are typically small, similar to guesthouses and contains a kitchen and laundry area. They're located very near to the supermarkets, shops and public transport such as bus-stops and the MRT. So, pretty much you can be self-sufficient without spending too much.

Hope it helps...cheers!

There are a few options.
1) Hostels like Backpacker hostels in Bugis, The Inncrowd at Dunlop street,Hotel 81 is a chain hotel and they have many options.
2)rent and apartment in the city if you are looking for a convenient place as transport costs can add up. You can search for short-term rentals of one to three months.
