• If you are looking for the centre of Sofia's midsummer social life then you will probably find it in the city garden where the neo classical façade of the National theatre (in my photograph) looks down on an elegant arrangement of beautiful fountains and tree shaded lawns with sculptures dotted here and there. It's here that office workers stroll during their lunch breaks and old men play chess and backgammon in the shaded areas of the park. there are a couple of outdoor bars to chill out at and have a cool drink in the midday sun of the summer months in Sofia. Definitely one of my favourite parts of Sofia and one of the prettiest.
