• Only ten weeks after the sudden closure of Sonoma's Ranch House Restaurant, Mondo opened its doors for business in its place on Wednesday, April 16. Mondo is an "American Beer Garden" featuring 40 beers, most of which are brewed locally, as well as a handful of wines by the glass. The restaurant is headed by proprietor and general manager Dean Castelli. Dean has a fourteen year history of hospitality including seven years at the restaurant Domaine Chandon, followed by being an integral part of the management team at The Lodge at Sonoma during it's early years and a brief stint as manager and wine buyer for "the girl and the fig" in Sonoma. Dean's wife, Justine Miner, is the chef and owner of San Francisco's Lower Haight restaurant RNM. The menu at Mondo features gourmet American classics presented by Chef Sarah Ellison Pinkin.
