Description:
Overlooking the harbor, this building served as a convent between 1914 and 1986, when it was converted to an inn. The rather simple furnishings might reflect its heritage as an institution, rather than a historic building. (Much of the religious statuary was left in place.) Ask for one of the two front rooms, where you can watch for whales from your windows. The front parlor has been converted to a tearoom, where you can order a pot of tea and a light snack such as carrot cake or a rhubarb tart.
