Tifani (in Hotel Peristil) is a welcome departure from the same old, same old, that characterizes most of the Split's restaurants. Grilled meats and fish are menu staples, but Tifani's young chef also tries to cook out of the box. House-made noodles with mussels, mortadella, and peppers come together in a creamy sauce laced with cheese. Sautéed stroganoff is a happy mix of beef, Madeira sauce, mushrooms, gherkins, and cream. Tifani has a nice wine list and even nicer servers.
