• Did you know that Catacula Lake Winery's vast 1025 acres of land were first learning grounds for children from every social strata? It was called the Bar 49 Estate, a non-profit organization which held summer camps for kids teaching them to ride a horse, fish, even water-front sports. The year 1999 changed all of the above. The vintage technique of Southern Wappo Indians was put into business. The process of making juice out of Manzanita tree berries found its way to the following wines - Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. What's more? Catacula's wines have claimed awards thanks to the existence of the various enticing ingredients such as oak, almonds, cedar and the manzanita...Take a turn in the willowy vineyard but with prior appointment.
