- Ehlers Estate is a 43.8 acre parcel of property acquired by French entrepreneur and philanthropist Jean Leducq. Leducq passed away in 2002 and the winery was left in trust to the Leducq Foundation, with proceeds benefiting international cardiovascular research. Winemaker Rudy Zuidema moved the Ehlers Estate to organic farming in 2004 and biodynamic farming in 2005. Ehlers Estate takes advantage of its St. Helena location and produces characteristically full-bodied California Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with smooth tannins. Tasting is by appointment only.
