• A successful cardiologist in Houston, Texas, Dr. Madaiah Revana visited Napa in the late 1990s and discovered a fertile parcel in the upper valley that he felt certain had top cabernet potential. Coming from a family of farmers in India, Revana set to work planting cabernet vines and enlisted the help of noted winemaker and cab specialist Heidi Peterson Barrett to make his wine. Today Revana vineyards is a gorgeous Tuscan-style facility with an elegant tasting room and expansive fountain-filled gardens. Two generations of Revanas make wine here in Napa and in northeastern Oregon, and the family's sense of hospitality makes this a particularly festive winery to visit. Now respected as a winemaker as well as a doctor, Dr. Revana takes every opportunity to speak to audiences about the health benefits of red wine.
