The atmosphere is boozy and cheerful and when the guitars have been put back on their stands, the punters quaff their beer, drag on their cigarettes and jerk their heads to the Rolling Stones' tracks which have since taken over the speakers. This interlude reveals an interesting fact about St. Petersburg rock audiences. Nobody dances to records. The only time they'll get up to slide around the beer slashes is when a real musician is earning his or her pay.
