If you're feeling carnivorous, dedicate an evening to this urban version of a Russian hunting lodge. It offers a taste of the fruits of Russia's northern forests and its uber-macho hunting culture. The reindeer and boar heads on the walls seem to encourage diners to regale their friends with tall tales of hunting adventures. The sauces made from wild mushrooms, nuts, bilberries, cranberries, and other forest delicacies are as good as -- and sometimes better than -- the meat. All ingredients are allegedly local, which means the meat menu varies by season. I had success with moose and boar, but it's always a good idea to ask your server or neighboring tables which meats are good that day. The "tender lard with fresh greens" is a delectable appetizer, despite its name. Lunchtime is calmer, with fewer tables of large, vodka-soaked parties.
