User Review:
- This is the other side of Saint Petersburg. The unique chance to see Dostoyevsky's Saint Petersburg, as we call it. Rodion Raskol'nikov is the main character of "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The novel gives very easily traced real addresses and luckily the old houses are still there. No glamorous palaces and equestrian monuments here.. The city of poor people, thoroughly described by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, is recalled during this tour. You'll see the "house of Raskol'nikov", the "house of Sonechka Marmeladova" and the pawnsbroker house, counting the steps together with the doomed student.. Today the former dirty slums, where Raskol'nikov lived is a rather nice and central area, however, in some old yards it is like in Dostoyevsky's times. So watch your step!
