Description:

  • Ivangorod (Ivan's town) is situated on the east coast of the river Narva. It got its name from an ancient fortress built under the reign of Ivan III in 1492, which sits on Devichia hill in a very scenic location. The fortress consists of three parts, which were named in the 17th century (castle, big boyar's town and front town). This fortress is a part of Ivangorod's Historical Architectural and Arts Museum, which also includes an Art Gallery and the Museum of Military and Defensive Architecture.
