Muzei-kvartira F.M. Dostoevskogo (Dostoevskii Flat-Museum)

Description:

  • A comprehensive and interesting look into the world of Fedor Dostoyevskii set in the corner apartment where the celebrated author lived and died. Divided into two sections, literary and memorial, the first reveals the life of the man as a writer from beginning to end. Theatrical display cases help tell the story. The second is the apartment he lived in with his second wife and two children. These rooms have been tastefully restored and filled with their personal belongings: Dostoyevskii's hat, books he read to his children, his tobacco box and in his study: his desk, his works, his ink well, a note from his daughter and pictures of his loved ones. Rent a cassette recorder and it will be easy to not only learn about Dostoyevskii's life but see what it was he left behind.
